Printer is a peripheral device which is used to take a print or which produces a hard copy of documents. Some printers used as
local and attached with USB cable or parallel ports to the computer. Some printers known as Network printers attached by LAN
cable or wireless. With the help of network printers you can take a print through the network. Individual printers are designed
to support both local and network connected users at the same time. Some printer can directly connect with images capture

There are some common problems comes in printer like print not coming, spooler service error, system hang when you try to take
any print, document adjustment or half print, error code, paper out message, unable to feed paper etc. These problems comes due
to hardware issue as well as software problems. If you face any type of print problem then first of all you should find which
one is faulty. If paper is unable to feed, that means there is the problem with hardware of printer. But If printer is able to
fire a test page then it may be the problem with software.

There are some common troubleshooting steps regarding printer problem. When print is not coming then, first you should check
that printer is detecting or not. Go to device manager and click new hardware scan. After scanning you should check that printer
is detecting or not in the list. If printer is detected then open the printer and try to print a test page. See the error
messages regarding print.

HOW TO TROUBLESHOOT PRINTER PROBLEMS

1. Printer is on-line or off-line :- The computer cannot communicate or send stuff to a printer that is not on-line.

2. Printers beep :- Most printers will beep once or twice during or after initialization. If it beep continuously that means there is something problem in it.

3. Does it test-print :- Most printers have a built-in diagnostics program which can be very useful for troubleshooting problems and test-printing without a computer.

4. Clean the printer head :- Most ink jet printers have a simple user procedure for cleaning the print heads. You may have to clean them periodically or after the printer has been idle for a few days or weeks.

5. Printer cable :- Check for Printer Cable pins ( bent or not ). Try another cable.

6. Printing from the DOS prompt :- try to print from DOS prompt while printer is not printing from Windows.

7. Check stuck print queue :- Check in printer setting that there is some printing job is still in queue or not. ( Start>Settings>Printers>double click the printer> Printer>Purge Print Documents )


If any message appear on the screen related "spooler service" then, you should check print spooler service from services list. Go to services.msc and start the print spooler service. If printer is not detected then you should change the printer cable and then check. If print stuck in queue then you can open then printer and cancel all the previous document and then try. You should also restart the printer. If all is fine but print is not coming then you can uninstall and reinstall the printer driver software.

Some times you can get error code like:
Error code 02 - It is related to printer warm up issues. If you are facing this, check printer cable for loose connection.
Error code 11 - paper out issue.
Error code 30 - postscript firmware problem.
Error code 14 - check cartridge.
Error code 22 - printer configuration setting is incorrect.
If printer is attach with network then check connectivity of LAN.
